Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 23, 2026

1. Overview

PDFBlast ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our online PDF tools at pdfblast.com.

The most important thing to know: The vast majority of PDFBlast's tools process your files entirely within your own browser. Your PDF files are never uploaded to our servers for client-side operations (merge, split, compress, rotate, protect, unlock, watermark, page numbers, PDF↔image conversion). They never leave your device.

2. What Data We Collect

2a. Files (Client-side tools)

For tools that run in your browser (merge, split, compress, rotate, protect, unlock, watermark, delete pages, page numbers, PDF/JPG conversion), your files are processed entirely on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.

2b. Files (AI-powered tools)

For AI tools (Chat with PDF, Summarize, Translate, OCR), your file must be uploaded to our servers to be processed by our AI engine. Uploaded files are:

  • Transmitted over TLS (HTTPS) encrypted connections
  • Processed by our AI provider and then deleted
  • Never used to train AI models
  • Never shared with third parties except as required for processing

2c. Account Data

If you create an account, we collect your email address, name, and usage history (job logs). We use this solely to provide the service.

2d. Usage Analytics

We collect anonymous usage data (which tools are used, error rates, performance metrics) to improve the service. This data contains no personally identifiable information and no file contents.

3. Passwords

When you use the Protect PDF or Remove Password tools, your passwords are processed entirely in your browser and are never sent to our servers, never logged, and never stored. We have no ability to recover or view your PDF passwords.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies only (authentication session cookies). We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this will affect login functionality.

5. GDPR Rights (EU/EEA Users)

If you are located in the EU or EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of your personal data
  • Rectification — correct inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your account and data
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing of your data

To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@pdfblast.com.

6. CCPA Rights (California Users)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

7. Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time. Job history logs are retained for 90 days then automatically purged.

8. Security

All data in transit is protected by TLS 1.2+. Our infrastructure follows security best practices. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

PDFBlast is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
